The Montessori School of Mauldin opened our doors in 1977 for two primary students – and have continued growing over the past thirty years.  We now meet the needs of over 250 children per year.

Our school incorporates the Montessori Method which was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.  This program has multi-aged classes which use hands on activities

In a time before “learning styles” and “teaching techniques” – Dr. Maria Montessori had an opportunity to work with and study children.  Through her scientific observation she developed a method of teaching for life.  Montessori is not merely a system for training children in academic studies; nor is it a label to be put on educational materials.  The Montessori Method encourages exploration through discovery.  A Montessori Environment provides the child with a place to embrace their own natural development.  Beautiful, realistic, child-sized materials allow the child to perform in a variety of hands-on activities. Within the classroom, the child is able to develop and refine their ability to observe, compare, reason, make decisions, draw conclusions, solve problems, appreciate and participate in the world around them.
